The
seven Kaštela lie at the Kaštela Bay, between the
ancient towns of Split and Trogir and they pride themselves
with a century-old tradition in tourism. Remains of thrones
of Old Croatian rulers, settlements and preserved churches
on the slopes of Kozjak all tell the story of the arrival
of Croats to this area in the seventh century. At the onslaught
of Turks, 500 years ago, they moved down to the shoreline
and erected fortifications - palaces, around which small towns
grew, full of a particular sense of urban construction. The
museums and churches treasure artifacts of special value (antique
findings, Declarations, paintings, clerical articles and jewellery).
Kaštela, gardens, olive groves, vineyards, beaches and a mild
climate, coupled with pleasant accommodation in the Kaštela
hotels, villas and comps are all there to make the stay of
guests a pleasant one. The location offers numerous opportunities
for sport, recreation, mountain climbing and entertainment. |
